Introduction:

Accupay emerged as a critical solution for a Philippine company's intricate payroll management needs. Designed to streamline employee time tracking, leave management, and salary processing, Accupay aimed to enhance efficiency and accuracy in workforce management. With features allowing employees to log working hours, apply for leaves, and view their timesheet history, alongside an admin interface empowering managers to oversee performance and administer payroll, Accupay sought to revolutionize the company's payroll processes.

Challenges:

Accupay faced several challenges, notably in handling dual roles for employees and complex wage structures. The primary hurdle was accommodating employees who served both as staff members and administrators, each requiring distinct access levels and permissions. Moreover, the intricacies of wage calculation posed a significant challenge, particularly with varying rates for different shifts and the potential for employees to work across multiple shifts within a single pay period.

The Solution

To address these challenges, I devised a comprehensive design solution centred on usability and functionality. I created separate interfaces for staff and administrators, ensuring clarity and ease of navigation for both user groups. A toggle switch enabled administrators to seamlessly transition between their administrative role and their employee view, simplifying the user experience. Additionally, I implemented a visual hierarchy within the admin interface, allowing managers to easily discern the shifts worked by employees and the corresponding wage rates.

Despite the complexities inherent in payroll management systems, Accupay's design prioritized simplicity and efficiency. By leveraging intuitive design principles and incorporating user feedback throughout the development process, Accupay emerged as a user-friendly solution that streamlined payroll processes and empowered both employees and administrators alike.
